Management Team


Andrew Morgan – Managing Director

Andrew graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in the fields of Forest Ecology and Management. Andrew is a Director of the Forest Industry Association of Tasmania, FSC Australia and Private Forests Tasmania. Andrew maintains a range of professional management and scientific skills having assessed, produced and managed a variety of projects and programs. In recent times Andrew has overseen the diversification and growth of SFM into a national forestry company and was heavily involved in the development of the company’s Forest Stewardship Council® certification.

David Wise – Director

David completed an Advanced Diploma of Applied Science from the University of Melbourne in 1996. David then returned to University in 1999 and gained a Bachelor of Economics with a Finance major from the Hobart campus of the University of Tasmania. David sits on the board of a Tasmanian retail chain and has gained a broad background of experience in developing and running small to medium enterprises. David’s role in SFM focuses on the financial and strategic management of the organisation.

Mike Lawson – Regional Manager – Vic/SA

Michael has over 20 years experience in the Plantation Forestry Industry having forged his career in New Zealand, Tasmania, Western Australia, Victoria and South Australia. Mike has held a number of roles across his career ranging from operations through to senior management and has significant experience in driving value growth within some of Australia’s leading softwood plantation assets. Based in the Green Triangle region of Southern Australia, Mike is Regional Manager for SFM Asset Management and is responsible for overseeing the management of three Eucalyptus plantation estates for two key clients.

Brett Stevenson – Forest Operations Manager – TAS

Brett has over 25 years of experience in the forest sector having worked for Australian Newsprint Mills, North Forest Products and Gunns. He has a wide range of forest management experience including cable harvesting, road design, wood procurement and wood supply logistics. In recent times he has developed new softwood export market and currently manages timber acquisition, harvesting and wood supply across industrial and private forest estates.

Tammy Price – Finance and Project Manager 

Tammy has extensive experience in forestry, community and public relations, financial, contractor and safety management.  Tammy is qualified as a plantations forester and has previously responsible for over 20,000ha of plantation estate in the southern region of Tasmania.   Management of this estate involved all facets of the operation from planning through to establishment and maintenance.   Tammy has held roles in public relations and worked with many community groups throughout Tasmania, as well as senior financial management positions.

Jason Bolch – Operational Planning Manager – TAS

Jason has 20 years experience in the forest industry in Tasmania. He has been a land manager for two large forestry companies with particular skills in managing industrial sized plantation estates. Jason has also managed extensive native forest silviculture and fire management programs. He is a warranted Forest Practices Officer (planning) under the Forest Practices Act of Tasmania. Jason is currently responsible for Forest Practices Plan production for SFM Forest Products contractors on State Forest south of Hobart.

Stephen Walker – Senior Consultant – QLD

Stephen joined SFM in early 2013 after a distinguished career in Queensland managing State-owned land and commercial forest assets independently certified to internationally recognised environmental standards. Stephen’s reputation internationally for project management has led to him being engaged by the Australian government to lead reviews of major capacity building projects in China, Vietnam, Lao PDR and Papua New Guinea. Stephen is a certified Lead Environmental Auditor, a Registered Professional Forester and a Director of the Institute of Foresters of Australia. Since joining SFM Stephen has worked for clients on a diverse range of projects involving environmental certification of forest assets, due diligence of a major hardwood plantation estate, modeling of pricing, evaluation of second rotation productivity decline in blue gum plantations, environmental planning for hardwood plantation harvesting activities and managing forest consulting projects for the Queensland government.
