SFM seeks FSC certification

SFM is currently seeking certification against the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Principles and Criteria, an international scheme that endorses sustainable forest management (www.fsc.org). Having both FSC and AFS certification will enable SFM to access the widest range of markets for your product, and have priority access to mills due to being able to offer 100% certified product. The process towards certification involves a significant amount of consultation with interested community members, and SFM has recently asked a range of stakeholders for feedback on the most recent draft of its Forest Management Plan (see Downloads section). We will undergo a preliminary audit in the near future, which will give us the insights and direction to improve the transparency and social accountability of our operations.
