Wetlands Restoration Project

In conjunction with SFM, Nature Glenelg Trust (NGT) have be working to restore water levels at two wetlands in the Glenelg Plain Bioregion of South West Victoria. The restoration work forms part of two Regional Biodiversity Hub Projects coordinated by NGT and funded by the Victorian Government until April 2020. The main drainage points from the wetlands were blocked in mid-late August using sandbags and following good rainfall over the past month the results have been truly amazing. SFM and NGT will continue to monitor the wetlands for emergence of wetland vegetation and use by wetland birds.
